For We’re Off To The Big School 2026, TODDCS was commissioned to create trailers for a promotional campaign and supporting video course for a UK-wide initiative designed to help Year 6 pupils approach that transition with confidence, optimism, and excitement. Developed by Tree of Knowledgein partnership with Crescent Purchasing Consortium, the programme combines a large-scale live virtual event with a classroom-ready transition toolkit — creating a complete experience for schools, pupils, and families.
The Concept
After 2025’s hugely successful Scottish event that saw over 40,000 pupils across 1,200 schools sign up, the 2026 programme expands across England, Wales, and beyond. Tree of Knowledge’s idea is to create a national shared experience that supports emotional well-being during transition and makes every pupil feel included in the journey to “Big School”
TODDCS’ role was to help visually communicate that energy and purpose through event advertising, filmed educational resources, and emotionally engaging promotional storytelling. The content needed to speak to multiple audiences at once, pupils, teachers, school leaders and parents, while still feeling fun, uplifting, and accessible.
The Execution
1. Promotional Campaign Advert
TODDCS created the main promotional advert shown above. Using fast-paced editing, energetic pacing, uplifting music and clear messaging, the goal was to capture the excitement of the live event, the scale of participation and the reassuring tone that defines the programme. The advert positions the event as a celebration, not just another online session. A version for potential event sponsors, shown here, was also created.
2. Big School Ready Resource Pack
Alongside the live event, TODDCS produced the filmed content for the Big School Ready Resource Pack — a flexible classroom toolkit that included short, transition-focused pieces to camera, including confidence-building, reflection, and wellbeing prompts. These videos were designed to feel conversational, supportive and highly engaging for Year 6 pupils rather than overly formal or instructional. This approach helps teachers deliver meaningful transition support with minimal preparation and maximum classroom engagement. Here are some example modules from the resource pack:
3. Scalable Educational Content
Because the programme is designed for national participation, every asset needed to work at scale, which means that content has to feel personal even in large audiences, works equally well in halls and classrooms, remains accessible for diverse learners and is easy for schools to implement quickly. The final production package supports both the live-event experience and long-term classroom use beyond the broadcast itself.
The Impact
The result is a transition programme that feels inclusive, uplifting and genuinely memorable rather than transactional or administrative. The combined live event and classroom toolkit helps pupils:
build confidence before secondary school
Challenge common fears and myths
Reflect positively on their primary journey
Feel part of a wider shared experience
Importantly, the programme is designed to support: every pupil - not just the loudest or most confident voices in the room.
Strengthening the Organisation’s Reach
For Tree of Knowledge, the visual campaign and educational content elevate the programme nationally, strengthen engagement with schools and create reusable assets for future expansion. Through strategic storytelling and production, TODDCS helped transform the initiative from an event schools attend to an experience schools remember and share.
Why Video Matters in Education Campaigns
Educational content is most effective when people feel emotionally connected to it. Through carefully crafted video and visual storytelling, information becomes memorable, confidence becomes contagious, and participation becomes meaningful. For large-scale education projects, video doesn’t just communicate logistics, it creates atmosphere, trust and emotional momentum.
We’re Off To The Big School is more than a virtual event. It’s a nationwide moment of encouragement, reassurance, and celebration for young people stepping into a new chapter of life. By combining live energy with classroom-ready resources, the project demonstrates how thoughtful production and storytelling can turn educational support into something pupils genuinely connect with and carry with them long after the event ends.
